The quick answer

Shiny Minior is not confirmed as available in Pokémon GO as of October 28, 2026. Its shiny core artwork has a black body with multicolored details. The seven bright core colors are ordinary forms.

First check the game and the release status

The official Minior debut announcement lists the seven ordinary colors, but does not announce shiny availability. The GO Hub database marks shiny Minior as unavailable. Until a release announcement or reliable live verification changes that, treat the showers as normal-form collection opportunities.

A shiny render can exist in an asset archive before a shiny is obtainable in the live game. A video may also show another Pokémon game, a preview or unreleased assets. Check the title, the game interface and the upload context before interpreting a black Minior as a real GO catch.

The visual identification checklist

  • Ordinary Core: a body in one of seven colors, with its characteristic face and pointed silhouette.
  • Shiny Core reference: a dark, almost black body with colored details. The ordinary core colors share this overall shiny appearance.
  • Meteor shell: the rocky exterior conceals the core, so the shell alone is an unreliable shiny test.
  • If GO releases it in the future, use the game’s shiny indicator and encounter effects as well as the visible model. Do not rely only on a dark screenshot.

Three common mix-ups

What you seeWhat it actually tells you
A Violet or Indigo CoreAn ordinary color, not evidence of a shiny
A black core in Scarlet or VioletA shiny in that game, not a GO release
Shiny artwork in a databaseAn asset exists; live availability is a separate field
A regular shell during the eventThe normal wild-encounter presentation

There are no verified GO shiny odds to plan around

Do not carry over a main-series probability or a generic Pokémon GO shiny rate. With no confirmed release, giving a “1 in X” hunt estimate would create a false expectation. This guide leaves the odds unset.

For now, compare catches for collection and battle use, keep a clearly identified Green Core, and use the event for the rewards that are actually available. If a shiny release is announced later, this page should be updated with the event, eligible encounter method and the source of any rate estimate.

The side-by-side images are reference illustrations, not screenshots of an obtainable shiny in Pokémon GO. They are useful for learning the appearance; the release-status note determines whether a hunt makes sense.
