The quick answer

PvP starting point: Rollout + Acrobatics + Power Gem. Raid database recommendation: Rollout + Power Gem. A best moveset within Minior’s pool does not make it a best-in-class raid attacker.

Read the complete move pool before using TMs

The reviewed GO Hub data supplies the move pool. The current Core entry states that Core Form cannot participate in raids. Keep that eligibility note separate from the damage calculator printed on the same page. We have not performed a live raid or controlled PvP test.

PvP example: plan the next attack, not just the first

GO Hub’s October PvP analysis favors Rollout for energy and explains why a second attack may take longer than expected. Starting at zero, seven Rollouts generate 91 energy. Using Power Gem for 50 leaves 41; one more Rollout reaches 54, just short of Acrobatics at 55. A second Rollout reaches 67. These are move-cost calculations, not a guaranteed battle outcome.

Ancient Power costs 45 instead: at 100 stored energy, Ancient Power and Acrobatics together cost exactly 100. Its lower direct damage and chance-based boost still need to fit the matchup. Shield decisions, incoming attacks and the form transition can make either sequence impractical.

An investment check for a new mechanic

Decide which league and team slot you need before paying for another Charged Attack. Read current eligibility and simulate the specific matchup with the current tool version. Then compare it with a real in-game observation when you can; a simulator and the launch implementation can disagree.

Record starting energy, shields and whether the shell was already broken. Change one condition at a time. A single successful match or a chance-based boost does not establish a universal best IV spread or an investment guarantee.

PvP: energy first, then choose your finish

Rollout supplies Rock-type pressure and builds energy for both Charged Attacks. Acrobatics gives Flying coverage, while Power Gem supplies a Rock attack with a lower energy cost. This is the combination shown by PvPoke for Minior Core; treat it as a starting point for testing, not a promise about the new transformation mechanic.

The practical decision is whether to spend energy while still protected or save it for the higher-Attack core. Banking energy only helps if Minior survives long enough to use it. Near the transformation threshold, account for the opponent’s next Fast Attack and whether your Charged Attack will be shielded.

A healthy Meteor Form can absorb a hit differently from an exposed core. Avoid assuming that the same remaining HP bar means the same survival window after transformation. Save a shield when the matchup needs it, rather than spending both merely to preserve the shell.

Move costs and first-attack counts

The figures below use the reviewed GO Hub trainer-battle move data: Rollout generates 13 energy per use. First-attack counts start from zero energy and are calculated by rounding the energy cost up to a whole number of Rollouts. They are not a repeating attack cycle: leftover energy changes the next count.

Charged AttackTypeEnergyFirst use
Ancient PowerRock454 Rollouts
Power GemRock504 Rollouts
AcrobaticsFlying555 Rollouts

Why not default to Ancient Power?

Ancient Power is cheaper, but both it and Power Gem require four Rollouts from empty under these values. A lower printed cost does not always buy you an earlier first attack. Its chance-based stat effect should not be the foundation of a reliable game plan.

Power Gem trades a little more energy for stronger direct Rock damage; Acrobatics broadens the damage profile. If you choose Ancient Power as a bait option, test whether the energy savings actually change your matchup. Do not copy a moveset simply because a highlight video received a boost.

Raids: keep the recommendation in context

GO Hub’s database favors Rollout with Power Gem for Minior’s raid damage. That ranking compares its own combinations under the database’s assumptions. It is not a recommendation to replace an established Rock raid team.

The official launch description does not include raids among the modes supporting the Meteor-to-Core transformation. A Core-form DPS table therefore needs context: an attack-heavy stat sheet is not proof of that form’s live raid behavior.

Before spending TMs or Stardust for a raid, compare the Pokémon you already own against the actual boss and moveset. If you are short on resources, keeping Minior as a collection piece while its battle behavior is investigated is a reasonable choice.

A sensible investment checklist

  • Choose the battle mode and league before powering up. Do not cross a league CP cap accidentally.
  • Keep potential PvP candidates until form scaling is better understood. Avoid publishing one universal “best IV” based only on a static Core model.
  • Check the simulator’s date, shield scenario and treatment of the form change. A ranking number without those assumptions is incomplete.
  • Practice against a team leader to observe the transition before using your planned team in GO Battle League.
  • Recheck competitive eligibility. The official announcement excludes Minior from the 2027 Latin America International Championships.
