Your Minior questions, answered.

Look for wild Meteor Form encounters during a Minior Shower. During each event, 5–9 p.m. in your current local time is the increased-encounter window. Green Core debuted during Orionids, October 19–24, 2026.

No shiny release is confirmed as of October 28, 2026. The official debut announcement does not announce a shiny, and the GO Hub database lists shiny Minior as unavailable. A black shiny from a main-series game is not proof of a GO release.

There are seven ordinary core colors: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet. The rocky Meteor shell is a battle form, not an eighth core color. Shiny core artwork has a dark body with multicolored details.

Green Core debuted during the October 19–24, 2026 Orionids event, which has ended. The other six colors are shown for identification; their individual shower assignments have not been confirmed in the sources reviewed.

No. Minior has no evolution or pre-evolution. Exposing its core during battle is a form change, not an evolution, and does not select a new core color.

The official English announcement says its core is exposed when HP falls below 50%. At launch, this mechanic applies to Team GO Rocket, team-leader battles and GO Battle League. It is not announced as a raid form-change mechanic.

For PvP, start by testing Rollout with Acrobatics and Power Gem. For raid damage, Rollout with Power Gem is the database recommendation, but that does not make Minior a top raid investment. Form-changing PvP behavior is still being investigated.

Its Rock/Flying typing is weak to Electric, Ice, Rock, Steel and Water attacks. In Pokémon GO, each of these deals 1.6× damage. Ground and Fighting are not weaknesses after both types are combined.

The announcement identifies those hours as an increased-chance window inside a longer event. It does not say Minior is exclusive to those four hours. Plan your main hunt for the boost without treating 9 p.m. as the whole event deadline.

Color does not change Minior’s type or the core’s base stats. The important stat difference is Meteor Form versus exposed Core: the shell favors Defense; the core favors Attack.

Core colors are separate, non-interchangeable forms. The battle transformation reveals the color that Minior already has. It does not reroll it, and no color-selection item is announced.

The debut announcement explicitly excludes Minior from that championship. That specific competitive restriction is separate from its stated GO Battle League form-change support. Check the current event rules before entering.
